We went to the Colorado Springs Boat and Outdoor Show today and had a great time. First we had to take our niece and her parent's to check out the new Colorado Springs Bass Pro Shops. This was the only photo that kind of turned out from the visit. I've decided when I can finally upgrade to a Smart Phone, I'm getting one with a good camera, but this point-and-shoot camera hates me.
Next, we headed over to the event center for the show. There were lots of booths including face painting (or arm painting for those who prefer to be able to look at their body art).
There were a LOT of boats to look at. Our niece made sure she looked at all of them...several times.
Gator Quen Liz from Swamp People was there but I was too shy to go talk to her or ask for a picture
There was a different seminar every hour, but we only went to see the "Understanding Crawfish and their Behaviors" by G. Wayne Byrd. We got so busy at all of the booths that we forgot about going back for the other seminars we wanted to see until they were over. I also lost my watch this morning so I wasn't watching the time very well.
This guy was looking at me the entire seminar.
There were minnow races, too. You'll notice Jordan (no antlers with a blue shirt) is watching his sister Brosia (antlers and white shirt) because his minnow when straight to the finish line while Brosia's minnow kept wanting to go back to the starting line no matter how much she tried to make it go the other way.
This is the reason for boat inspections. We don't want these in our waters. The camera wouldn't cooperate so it's really hard to tell that that is a shoe on the right covered in zebra muscles.
Jordan and Brosia did some target shooting in the Daisy shooting booth. They are both pretty good target shooters!
We got a bunch of brochures, cards, and I got a t-shirt from Slay Fest Fly Fishing Company.
The Colorado Springs Boat and Outdoor Show was a lot of fun. Thank you to all of our followers that came to hang out with us for the day! Maybe next year we'll set up a booth...
